What is Ivy’s pricing structure?
As of November 1, we introduced an energy-based pricing pilot at all ONroute locations, where EV drivers are charged based on the amount of energy they consume. Our rate is $0.62/kWh, tax-inclusive, at these chargers. Looking ahead, our vision is to extend energy-based pricing across our entire network.
For our fast-charging network, excluding ONroute locations, our price is $0.40/minute ($23.73/hour), tax-inclusive.
Our Park & Charge (level 2) chargers feature time-based pricing. Our partners set their own price which will appear on our app.
How does energy-based pricing work?
With this pricing model, the rate is based on the amount of energy, measured in kilowatt-hours, consumed during your charging session. To calculate the total cost of your charging session, Ivy multiplies the number of kilowatt-hours consumed by the energy-based rate.
Example: During your session, your vehicle consumes 20 kWh. The cost of your charging session would be: 20 kWh x $0.62/kWh = $12.40
How does Ivy bill for charging sessions?
It is important to understand how Ivy completes billing for your charging sessions. After each session, you will receive an email notification that summarizes your session including the energy you’ve received, your charging location, and the total cost. Your credit card is not charged at this time. Ivy Charging Network bills on a monthly basis. Billing occurs on the first day of the month. The credit card provided on your account is charged for the previous month’s total.

Can I pay with my credit card at your stations?
Yes, you now can with the new and improved Ivy experience! As long as you have data or a Wi-Fi connection, just follow the steps below:
- Scan the QR code on the charger with your mobile device.
- Follow the onscreen steps and then enter your credit card information.
- Tap Start on the Charger page.
After each transaction, you’ll receive an email receipt with a detailed breakdown of your charging session. You can track your full charging history, monthly subtotals and payment history in the mobile app.
Note: Your payment profile will be billed at the start of each month for the prior month’s charging.
How does Ivy set its prices?
Ivy’s Charge & Go pricing is competitive compared to other fast-charging networks and adheres to the regulatory pricing requirements set by Measurement Canada. It allows us to grow and maintain a network that makes charging on-the-go easy, reliable and seamless. Currently, the industry in Ontario uses time-based pricing and is moving towards energy-based pricing. In setting our prices, Ivy also considers the charging curve and expected usage for EVs that can accept between 50 kW to 150 kW.
Ivy’s Park & Charge pricing is set by our partners, and we encourage them to adopt a similar approach.
Does Ivy have idle fees?
At present, Ivy doesn't charge idle fees at our charging stations. As a courtesy, we ask our members to watch their app notifications and clear the space for the next member once their session is complete.
