How to charge with Ivy’s dual-charging units at select ONroutes.

Charge your EV easily with Ivy Charging Network's reliable and seamless chargers, especially at our new dual-charging Kempower units located at select ONroute locations. Use either this guide or our instructional video to start charging with the CCS connector on these user-friendly units.

Step 1: Activate your charging session.

Activate and pay using three flexible options.
1
Ivy RFID card.

Place your card directly on the reader and wait for authentication. Then select the connector.

Pro tip: Don't have an Ivy card? You can order a free one through the Ivy app!

2
Ivy app.

Open the app (log in), select your location and charger ID, the connector and then payment method.

3
QR code.

Scan the code to open the web app, enter your info, enter payment info and then select the connector.

Step 2: Connect the CCS plug in your vehicle.

Watch the video for how to access and plug into your connector type.

  1. Open port: Locate and open your vehicle's charging port door, removing any covers.
  2. Remove connector: Firmly pull the connector from the Kempower unit's holster.
  3. Plug in: Insert the connector firmly into your vehicle's charging port until it clicks into place. A secure connection is vital for charging to start. Wait for charging to initialize.

Step 3: Start charging and take a break.

Your vehicle is now charging! Check the dashboard for an estimated finished time. You can also check battery status, charging rate, and session details.

Pro tip: For optimal speed and consideration of other drivers waiting, we recommend charging to 80%. Remember to set a timer on your phone to remind you to return to your car!

Take advantage of your downtime and take a break at ONroute! Our stations are conveniently located to offer amenities while you wait.

Step 4: End your session and unplug.

When your vehicle has reached its desired charge level, you must formally end the session before unplugging.

  1. End session: Press the Stop button either within the app or directly on the Kempower charger screen.
  2. Unplug: The charger screen will indicate when it is safe to unplug. In some cases, you might need to unlock the port from your car’s control panel (often the door lock button or an in-car menu) before the connector can be removed.
  3. Pull the connector out: Firmly remove the connector from your vehicle's port and return it to the holster on the charger, ensuring it is securely stored.
  4. View receipt: If you used the app, you can check your receipt right on your phone.

Thank you for choosing Ivy!
